Tanu Jindal completed her Ph.D. in Ecotoxicology from the Department of Zoology, Delhi University (1995-1999). She also holds an MSc in Chemistry from Delhi University (1992-1994) and a BSc in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry from the same university (1989-1992). Additionally, she has undertaken various specialized courses, including a UNCC E-Course on Climate Change and a Diploma in Industrial Safety and Occupational Health from NILEM.

Tanu Jindal is the Additional Pro Vice-Chancellor (R&D) and Domain Head of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at Amity University. She is the Professor and Founding Director of the Amity Institute for Environmental Toxicology, Safety, and Management (AIETSM) and the Amity Institute of Environmental Sciences (AIES). She also serves as an advisor for the Amity Institute of Marine Science & Technology and holds additional responsibilities with the Global Research Hub at Amity New York.

Tanu Jindal has received numerous accolades, including the Distinguished Scientist Award 2023 from the National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), the Women Excellence Award 2022, and the Environmental Education Award at the Global Nature Film Festival 2018. She is a fellow of NESA and has been recognized with the Scientist of the Year Award in 2015 and the Environmentalist of the Year Award in 2014.
