Prof. Dr. Younghun Kwon is a distinguished Professor in the Mathematical Science Lab at the Department of Applied Physics, Hanyang University, South Korea, specializing in quantum information, quantum computation, and artificial intelligence. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Rochester, where his doctoral research focused on string theory and anomalies, and a Bachelor of Natural Science in Mathematics with a sub-major in Physics from Hanyang University. Over his extensive academic career, Prof. Kwon has held key roles including Assistant and Associate Professor at Hanyang University, as well as postdoctoral and research associate positions at the University of Rochester and the University of Minnesota, demonstrating leadership in both teaching and research. His research portfolio encompasses quantum state discrimination, quantum computation, construction of quantum computing building blocks, quantum error correction, sequential state discrimination, quantum communication, quantum correlations and coherence, and quantum artificial intelligence. Prof. Kwon has made pioneering contributions, including providing a complete solution to the long-standing problem of three-qubit state discrimination, developing novel methods for multi-party quantum key distribution, and proposing innovative hardware structures and error correction schemes for superconducting quantum computers. His work is widely recognized through publications in high-impact journals such as Scientific Reports, Quantum Information Processing, and IEEE Access, as well as influential preprints on arXiv. He has been honored with the Research Excellence Award for his outstanding contributions to quantum science.
