Dr. Katayoon Nofouzi earned her Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from Shahid Chamran University, Ahvaz, Iran, in 2007. Her doctoral research focused on the role of outer membrane proteins of Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale in attachment to chicken tracheal epithelial cells. Prior to her Ph.D., she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Urmia University, Iran, in 1999, with a thesis on the determination of MIC fluoroquinolones on E. coli isolated from broilers.

Dr. Nofouzi has extensive experience in academia and research. She has served as an Associate Professor at the University of Tabriz since July 2016, where her duties include teaching, research, and supervision of students at various levels.
