Currently, he focuses on the hydrogenation of plastic pyrolysis oil from COVID-19 waste PPE, aiming for gasoline-grade fuel production. He has developed a process employing Ni-based catalysts, enhancing oil properties to match commercial gasoline standards. B. Another endeavor involves developing a novel reactor for monomer recovery from waste plastics via catalytic thermal-cracking. Tasks include reactor design using COMSOL/ANSYS CFD, catalyst assessment, and techno-economic analysis. C. Additionally, Karan is engaged in designing a Basic Engineering Package for nano cellulose production, conducting pilot-scale experiments, and assessing membrane effectiveness for post-acid hydrolysis neutralization. 🚀
