Dr. Arturo Cortes-Telles is a distinguished pulmonologist and researcher, currently leading the Clínica de Enfermedades Respiratorias and the Pulmonary Physiology Laboratory at the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad de la Península de Yucatán (HRAEPY) – IMSS Bienestar. With extensive experience in respiratory medicine, he is also a postgraduate associate professor of medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán. Dr. Cortes-Telles has published numerous research papers and is actively involved in several national and international medical societies.

Dr. Cortes-Telles completed his medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, where he also specialized in internal medicine. He further specialized in respiratory medicine at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias and completed a fellowship in respiratory physiology and pulmonary function tests at the same institute. His training continued with a clinical applied research fellowship in respiratory physiology focused on cardiopulmonary exercise tests at Kingston General Hospital and Queen’s University in Canada. He also holds a master’s degree in clinical research and bioethics from the Universidad Anáhuac-Mayab.

Dr. Cortes-Telles serves as the head of the Clínica de Enfermedades Respiratorias and the Pulmonary Physiology Laboratory at HRAEPY – IMSS Bienestar. He holds positions as a postgraduate associate professor of medicine at two prominent universities in Mexico and manages a private consultation practice. His leadership extends to his role as head of the Research Committee of the Sociedad Mexicana de Neumología y Cirugía de Tórax and as the secretary of the Latin-America Respiratory Physiology Society (SOLAFIRE).
