Tesfaye Fentaw Nigatu is a passionate researcher and lecturer in the field of tourism and heritage management. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Sunway University, Malaysia, he is dedicated to exploring sustainable tourism practices and the cultural heritage of Ethiopia. His research has significantly contributed to understanding tourism’s impacts on communities and environments. With extensive teaching experience and numerous publications, Tesfaye is committed to promoting academic excellence in his field.

Education 🎓

Tesfaye holds a Ph.D. from the School of Hospitality and Service Management at Sunway University, Malaysia, where he is currently enrolled (2023-present). He earned his MA in Tourism and Heritage Management from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia (2015), focusing on sustainable tourism development and heritage management. Additionally, he completed a BA in History and Heritage Management at Jigjiga University, Ethiopia (2011), and obtained a Higher Diploma in teaching at Bule Hora University, Ethiopia (2016). His academic foundation lays the groundwork for his in-depth research and expertise in the field.

Experience 🏫

Tesfaye has been a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management at Wollo University, Ethiopia, since February 2017. Before that, he served in a similar capacity at Bule Hora University from September 2012 to January 2017. His extensive teaching experience has equipped him with valuable insights into tourism education, shaping the next generation of tourism professionals in Ethiopia.

Tesfaye’s research interests encompass sustainable tourism development, heritage management, and ecotourism. He focuses on the potential and challenges of tourism resources, particularly in the context of Ethiopian heritage sites.
