Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demokrat Nuha was born on August 17, 1995, in Kosovo. He is an accomplished Kosovar male scientist specializing in chemistry. Currently, he is a professor at the University for Business and Technology in Pristina, where he also attained the title of Associate Professor in October 2023. Dr. Nuha’s work spans the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Food Sciences and Biotechnology, making significant contributions to these fields.

Dr. Nuha completed his Doctor of Science in Chemistry at Eskişehir Technical University, Türkiye, in 2023. Prior to this, he earned his MSc in Organic Chemistry from Anadolu University in 2019 and his BSc in Chemistry Engineering from the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” in 2016. His educational journey is marked by numerous honors and scholarships, reflecting his dedication and excellence in the field of chemistry.

Dr. Nuha has an extensive professional background. Since March 2022, he has been a Professor of Chemistry at the University for Business and Technology in Pristina, Kosovo. He previously worked as an Education Studies Research Scientist at Anadolu University, focusing on synthesizing oligopeptide-like structures with anti-HIV activity and other biologically active compounds. His early experience includes a stint as an Organic Chemist at Gentipharm Pharmaceuticals in Kosovo.
Research Interest 🔬
Dr. Nuha’s research interests lie in the synthesis and theoretical calculation of novel compounds with potential biological activities, including antibiotics, antimicrobial, anti-cancer, anti-Alzheimer, antihypertensive, and anti-inflammatory agents. His work is characterized by the integration of computational chemistry and molecular modeling to predict and enhance the biological efficacy of new chemical entities.

Dr. Nuha has received multiple honors and scholarships throughout his academic and professional career. Notable recognitions include the Honour Certificate from the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina,” scholarships from the Ministry of Science, Education, and Technology in Kosovo, and full scholarships from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities for both his master’s and Ph.D. studies.
